Built in 1995/1996 to celebrate Jaguars 60th anniversary the Final Edition XJS was not just a cosmetic facelift but a huge improvement on all previous models. This included many unique cosmetic and performance upgrades including - Galvanised Body and Chassis, Outboard rear brakes, 4 speed ZF Automatic Gearbox, Black dash clock surround, Aerosport Diamond cut Alloys, Wood and leather steering wheel, wood gear selector, Premium Leather seats featuring embossed Jaguar leaper Logos on the headrest facings with contrasting, piping, Special chrome ribbed door treadplates, Upgraded sport suspension, and most importantly the replacing of the AJ6 Engine 4.0 litre with the new AJ16 4.0 litre producing 241 Bhp and 147mph. This stunning, collector level example was purchased by our vendor in April 2023 at 72,436 miles and the car has covered just over 1,200 miles since. At a time (2020) when very good examples changed hands for around 15 - 20k this particular car was sold by the Classic and Sports Car Centre for £30,000 with 70,000 miles on the clock demonstrating the standard of this car now with 73,000 miles on the clock (invoice in file). The original sales invoice issued by Appleyard Jaguar Bradford dated 25/7/95 shows the car was ordered with optional Cream leather at an extra £565.96 taking the price new to £41,579.99, the majority of the Celebration Cars has Mushroom coloured leather. The car also has ultra rare rear parking sensors and colour matching wind deflectors.
