This low mileage low ownership example of Manual Overdrive XJ6 was purchased new on August 1st 1971 and as such would have been one of the first "K" plate cars in Edinburgh on that day. Of considerable significance is the cars first lady owner a Miss Sleigh who was part of the Sleigh family behind Scotland's famous Rossleigh Garages. The cars original Service book is retained in the drivers wallet and shows the car being supplied from Shandwick Place Edinburgh and records 6 service stamps up to October 1984 when the car had covered a total of 10328 miles. The wallet also contains the Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook the original Jaguar "Praise Indeed" book, Sales and Service location book, Radiomobile Operating Instructions and a selection of other original booklets. The vendor and current long term owner acquired the car from the family on December 20th 1991 when the car had then covered 11985 miles. During his 35 years of ownership the car has seen very light use and has appeared at various local car shows winning prizes with certificates included. Today the car records a total mileage of 30328 miles. Within the history is a small selection of receipts along with MOT tests dating from 1991.
