WYVERN

Chassis number L1X-22653 - the cars file contains correspondence from a previous owner who believes that this example was one of 3 Wyverns to have been used in the filming of the popular 1960's based TV drama "Heartbeat". There is also photographic evidence of restoration from circa 2018 which included we are informed the professional retrimming of the interior along with the rechroming and repainting of the vehicle. This example was first registered on November 4th 1949 in London. Being Vauxhall's first post war offering, which commenced production during September 1948. The L Type was available as either the LIX 1442cc, four cylinder Wyvern or the LIP 2275cc six cylinder Velox, both of which came with three speed manual gearboxes and hydraulic brakes. Production of L Type Vauxhalls ceased during July 1951, by which time 55,409 Wyverns and 76,919 Velox had been made. The cars where available with the options of a Heater, Radio and Fog Light with this example having the optional Heater still fitted. This car is offered with a selection of photographs taken during restoration which include the professional retrimming of the interior during 2018 along with the rechroming of the car.
