CAVALIER SR - 1598cc
ESTIMATE £8750 - £9500. supplied new by Mid Western Cars Ltd of Tiverton Devon to a local gentleman who appears from the cars history to have owned it until around 1995. This now rare "SR" example is understood to be one of only nine still on the road today and is presented with a small selection of previous invoices, the original manuscripted service book and an owners manual. The vendor informs us that the car was serviced during November 2024 and has fitted a new carb and manual choke during December 2024. This lovingly restored by its previous owner, example drove to Auction some 50 miles with no issues reported. The vendor believes the miles to be correct but we have not quite enough evidence to back this up. The second generations Cavalier was launched during August 1981 with the "SR" aimed directly at Ford Capri owners who needed more space, specification included stiffer dampening, Recaro Highland Check front seats and Alloy Wheels along with a distinctive Anthracite Metallic lower quarter paint finish. During October 1982 the 1.8 "SRi" was launched ending the "SR" short production run, with this example being registered during October 1982 it would have likely been in its showroom along side the all new "SRi".
